There are very few times when I actually wish that I lived in the Land of the Free but with the imminent release of a new 1960's Bronco body shell as part of the Ford Restoration Parts program I'd have to say I'm envious.
The program has been running for a number of years and uses original tooling which is made available to licenced after market manufacturers under Ford QC regimes - there are currently more than 9,000 parts available including 93% of the parts required to build a 67 Mustang but this will be the first full Truck body in the range - joining the current four sedan bodies that are available. Nice to see that they are helping to keep the traditions alive. Cheers Russ

Aren't these aftermarket panels stamped by others, eg: Dynacorn.
I would have thought that Ford would have very little involvement except maybe to put their name to it for a small fee. Why would Ford or any other auto manufacturer want to keep their old dinosaurs alive?

ford want to keep them alive because they get money from royalties on the reproduction original parts, thats why they are ford approved.
not only that but the person buying a brand new shell will also want to flick through the ford racing catalogue ad pick up a brand new 302 boss block, or complete motor or anything else for their brand new shell so they can build a brand new car. |
