Question Tickford Rim?

Hi All,

I know this could/should go in the "Wanted Items" section, but as it's a specific AU request, I felt the first place to go is to my fellow AUvians.

Does anyone have a Tickford S1 17 rim, that they would sell for a reasonable price? I'm after a cheap one as a spare for the wagon.

I had a lead on some cheap rims recently, but that turned out to be a dead end.

I know that they most usually come in a set, but sometimes people, for one reason or another, have one floating around. It doesn't have to look nice, so the clear coat can be scratched or peeling, it can have a fair degree of gutter rash, but as long as it's straight, is all I'm really after.

Cheers all,

GK

I'm not sure if Mark still has the original spare for his xr. I'll find out for you when he's back from work and let you know as soon as I can. We do have 4 of them but I'm not sure if he's selling them to Poelwyk for the fairmont yet, but if the spare's there..

I believe I saw one on ebay just recently, not sure what the price was though.

Yeah I agree with that :P

We've got one for you. Up to you if you want to pick it up or we can bring it to you at the Bundoora Park meet?

hey Krissy, are you talking about the ones that are on the rear of your old car??
they're S2/3 ones.. wide flat spokes..
I think GK is after the S1 ones..
polished finish, thinner spokes..

could be wrong though..

Does it have a tyre at all? No issue if it doesn't, I'll just save one from the SR when I do the tyre change over soonish!

Kristo is right, however as it's the spare, as long as it's a Ticky 17, it won't matter any.

Krissy, I'd love you to bring it to the Bundoora meet! If I change my tyres on the SR before then, I'd have to travel to you guys to get it. I'm thinking the current tyres should last a little while longer though.

How much do you want for it?

And after re-reading your original post with my glasses ON this time, you sure did say S1. Sometimes, I wonder about myself

I'm pretty sure he was going to give you just the rim (one has a not so good tyre on it) but I don't know 100%. Give him a buzz. I'll PM you his number.

Shame you're not in Canberra mate, I have a couple of AUII 17's you could have for fifty bucks each. They do have tyres that are below the legal limit and it would probably cost a bit for freight... Even have centre caps...

Should paint the rim Yellow before GK picks it up... When he painted his rims, yellow was the main topic of discussion

He's an easy bloke to chat to indeed. Next time I'll ask for a landline number, the mobile bill will sink me! LOL! It'll be much less than the cost of a rim, for sure!

It'll be nice to finally meet you Krissy and Mark and your clan, and have that cuppa! Looking forward to it.

Pretty amazing that I'll just happen to be in Werribee this week too! Go figure!

Again with the Yellow. "Hey bud, you're not calling me Yella are ya?"

You indeed have a strange fixation with yellow!

Yellow rim = space saver spare; the idea is to reduce weight!

All ours have gutter rash so can't help you out unfortunately. The one we're giving GK is the best of the lot and it too has slight rash. TOP-GHIA is selling some though. If you have a search through the for sale section, they'll turn up, unless sold.

Not sure what they're worth single. We gave it to GK no charge since it won't be used anyway but value of it, no idea.

Thanks Mark and Krissy for the rim. It was lovely to meet you both finally and enjoy that cuppa and long chat.

I apologise for keeping you both up so late. Believe it or not, I'm now preparing work for classes tomorrow. Late night for me! LOL!

Shalom,

GK

Yes, how rude to keep us awake all night

No no, it's all good. We'd have been up anyway. And it was great to finally meet you after all these years. I absolutely enjoyed our conversations. You're a wonderful person. You've made it on to my Christmas card list lol. And you're welcome for the rim
