Hey all
I know there has been a million questions on this but none of them really solve my problem. Im wanting to change the instrument cluster lights and dash lights on my Xr6 to white LEDs. I have read that there is a film on the instrument cluster that makes white LEDs shine through as blue colour. If this is true, is there a way of removing the film? Im hoping to get a pure white colour but all I have seen is people changing them to blue.

Start off with a more yellow light. Once passed through a blue filter it should come out as white. It's the same principal as spotlights with blue clip on lenses. A halogen light at say 3500-4500 kelvin passed through a blue filter will come out as 5500-6000k. Obviously that's just a generalization as it will all depend on how yellow the bulb is and how blue the filter is. If you can get hold of some LED globes with varying colour temps, ie. more yellow to less yellow, then just swap them in and out till you get one that counteracts the blue and glows white. You're aiming for 6000k.
I hope that makes sense, lol. Bushbasher
