Default 650bhp 4WD Ford Focus

CLICK: Andrew Gallacher Motorsport Ford Focus

I was really impressed with this one! I had to post about it here.

Just some of the specs are: 650bhp Cosworth engine (with a massive turbo), 4-inch exhuast (split into 2 x 3inch side exhaust), roll cage and a full WRC bodykit. Just like the WRC cars, the only thing this has in common with ours is the shell!

Fabrication:

Now that's what I call a pod filter:

It was painted white, but now finished with a brilliant blue paint job:

And HERE is the awesome youtube video, featuring launch control.

Actually they are two different cars. The white one is the first one he built, using a standard Focus chassis.

The blue one is a second car, but doesn't use a standard body shell. Instead, he built a space frame, and then added carbon fibre body panels all round. It is simply an awesome machine.

I subscribe to Performance Ford mag and Fast Ford mag from the UK and they've had a number of features on Andy Gallaghers cars.

I'll see if I can search out the articles

Ah, I see. It's a bit unclear because there is nothing about the blue car on the Andrew Gallacher Website. I assumed the blue car was the white one, with a new paintjob and extra bodykit bits.

Anyway, here's the finished white car on the track:

It's reminiscent of our Sports Sedans. There's one example of an Audi A4 (that'll impress Mrs. Melbzetec) that's meant to be a replica of a DTM running around in Oz.

That article's a great find!

So whats involved in making it 4x4. He taken an old 4x4 system from an sierra or escort and modded it to fit the focus or is it completely fabricated??

It is running a Cosworth engine, so from memory it is all Sierra Cosworth running gear.

Going by the wheel arches and tyre size, that could be a LR RS in the background of the above photo??
