Default Are you sick of the Olympics?

This damned thing hasnt even started yet and already I am rather pee-o'd about missing all the decent television (whats left of it) in favour of Bruce "the Lunchbox" McAvaney telling me about how every athlete on the screen has "run the race of his life".

Thought I'd be safe with Top Gear being on SBS but no, even then I will miss it and get all the boring non-commercially usable sports like cycling and synchronised swimming.

Bugger the Olympics, I know the Chinese locked their people out of the internet but why is Australia locking us out of something better to watch?

Yep, fed up with it yesterday already when Channel 7 was promoting it instead of showing the car racing after the commercial breaks.

I am sick to death of hearing about it too.
And when I just heard of Top Gear copping a 2 week break for them, well I spat it....
Its gunna be flogged to death on channel 7, it dont need to be on all the other channels as well. All we will hear on the news after the doom n gloom is olympics this n that.

All I can say is the house DVD player and Limewire downloading whatever I want to watch are my best friends and free to air TV can go take a running jump in the lake without any of my viewing time or ratings support.

And they wonder and cry poverty when people download tv shows.

I am over it all.

OMG, Top Gear not showing the next two weeks? I have the telly to myself as the missus is away for two weeks and I can't watch my Top Gear???

Now I'm really, really, really, really, really, really, really fed up with the Olympics.

Bloody Olympics seem to be stopping ever good show on TV.

I was so glad when the last Olympics were on I was in the wilds of Alaska and heard zip about it and was very grateful. My only wish was that I was back there.

I agree with you on this. It's not like the Olympics are on every year. Hell, just about every show on TV these days is crap anyway so it'll be something different to watch for 2 weeks. Hopefully they cut out all the dancing, singing, model and amazing race shows!

Got to be honest, I might watch 2hrs of coverage in 2 weeks, and I hardly watch TV anymore anyway, so I didn’t even know they had started, but why they need a lead up broadcast is beyond me.

Are Roy and HG doing The Dream this year?

Don't watch any Australian FTA TV so no idea if they'll be covering it. Hope so, I might have to find my aerial!

these athletes train for years, sacrifice many things, some even devote their entire lives to a chosen sport and a handful of armchair Internet d|cks that get puffed walking to the fridge are already over the pinnacle of their sport before it has even started... Show some respect and patriotism ffs. If that is too hard, man up; open your wallet and get pay TV..
