Greetings,
Looking at running my AU on the strip and wanna run slicks, am running 235's on the front. What sorta rubber should i be looking for the rear end?

M/T 245 radial slicks.. Cannot run X ply with radial fronts..

Perhaps I am blind but i can only see a 255? "Mickey Thompson - Et Street Radial P255 / 50 R16 Tyre" Will that be what i need to look at?
If i wanna go full slicks and run front runners... Am i gonna have issues with my big brakes? Will i need to run 17's up front?

If you can fit 15" rims on the back get some 235/15 M/T et street's on some old 15" rims and your set..

Hrmm, thanks for the replies..
I was hoping to run some larger rubber on the rear, obviously 235 radials are going to be an improvement over what i am running on the street, regardless traction off the line worries me. Would there not be a possibility of going to a wider (255+) radial, with 16's? (15's wont fit over my aftermarket AP rear brakes) Or am i limited because my fronts are only 235?

Thanks, i had seen that, but what I was wondering was can i safely run a 275 even though i have 235's on the front? (yes i know its a PITA to get 275's on an AU)
I got alotta down low torque and wanna get it to the ground :P

If they fit on the car run them..
These tyres arent like a normal street tyre they are basically a radial slick with a little tread cut in and are illegal for road use in Aus,the 235 will grip better than even a 275 street tyre at the track,but there in no reason not to go wider,a higher sidewall profile is maybe just as important as width in these types of tyres because of how they work,run them with about 15-18psi pressure at the track.. |

I am looking for some 275x60x15 for my car for the Ford nationals in Sept. I have heard they are real good. But dont last long if you drive a bit on the road with them being real soft.
