guys, just a quick question: is there a different between open filter and replacement filter? Someone suggested me that for my auto tranny, i should use replcement filter instead of open filter (cone shape). does it really make a difference?

What filter are they talking about? Transmission or air?

Ah ok.
If you wanted to run a open air filter "pod", you should run some custom piping to behind the fog light cove where the filter will get the coolest air. Beware, if you drive through flooded water you might break your engine. Running a pod where the existing airbox is located will make performance worse, as hot air is being sucked from the engine and radiator. I just run the stock replacement filter in the airbox.
