i think the fuel price debate is a can of worms which wont catch any fish.. absolutely nothing australians can do. Its up to Opec and them increasing supply but they wont increase the supply and so keep the prices up..

And even if true, so????
People will still find money for it, just like they still find money for grog and smokes. Just imagine what we will be driving in 10 years however?? Hybrids with turbo diesel engines or LPG using 3L / 100 km.... |

On 7 news (Melb) just now, they mentioned the $3.00 and thought that it would be fit to mention that it would cost over $200 to fill a FORD FALCON. Talk about a cheap shot.

Yeah but in ten years if inflation keeps going $3 will probably be (in reality) worth what $2.30 or $2.40 is now.

The theory is "Peak Oil' happens in 7 years so that's where they get the $3 a litre from.

Some analysts are predicting that oil will be $120 a barrel in a ew months time others are predicting it will drop back to $70 a barrell. |

We should be getting round in reasonably powerful hydrogen powered cars by 2018. Fuel prices won't be a concern for the average driver. |

That is then, this is now. I'm still working out where I'll be living if the interest rates don't settle. Fuel prices won't matter if I'm living in the gutter. :(

I have my own predictions...
In 10 years time, a bag of Kettle chips will cost $6, a Mars Bar or Snickers will cost $3 and to afford a house, you'll have to live in the sea.

We need a fuel industry SEPERATE from the petrol companies to promote
COMPITITION....At present there isn't any... Even if its alcohol based fuels.. I'd like to see service stations open up as alternative fuel in competition.. I don't think it will happen though...

its rediculous. i cant see how it costs more to get the oil outa the ground as it was 10 years ago, apart from they have to have longer drills.
Some people are way too greedy |

To be honest, I'll be surprised if it takes 10 years to get to $3/l - I thought it would have been sooner. But we can hope... I wouldn't be calling them : either - what statistical data or research did you use to come to your conclusion about prices that makes you able to say that they should open their eyes and that they are "pathetic"? Gee $3 a litre now is it, thought it was meant to be $2 a litre 3 Christmases ago, You know somebody in the media really needs to be accountable for the dribble they spread.
With reports like this they just about give Oil companies the green light to A*** *&^% us at the Pump even more. Bit like astrologers predicting the end of the world, yeah it's will be on this date but it may not all happen at once... it could take like 100 billion years. TT and ACA report **** we should all no this by now,a nd what a surprise it's Caltex providing the figures Caltex the sellers of the Most expensive fuel in Australia or WA anyway

Let's see, 10 years ago I earned $500 a week and fuel was about 70 cents a litre. I now earn a tad over double that and fuel is $1.50 ltr for 98 ron. All relevant when you factor time frames in.

Has anyone stopped to think what Wages will be in 10 years & that even if Fuel is $3.00 a litre that will be the same sort of % of your Wage as it is now etc etc...
As for the Arabs answer is simple, we can assume they will be a threat to Democracy & just go & take their Oil lol.. Sounds fair enough to me what is theirs is ours. I mean who invented Machines that Use petrol in the first place so they Owe us Big Time! |
