Default Mondeo Wagon

I'm a massive fan of this car,
Why would ford do a all new falcon wagon when this little baby would have the same grunt and steal alot of sales away from it. The muddied waters are starting to become clearer now on HQ thinking. :

I don't really see what you are saying here. What's the relevance of GTS-R or Coupe 60 to a Mondeo wagon?

I agree with the OP, Mondeo wagon would have to be a good thing. It gives wagon owners 3 distinct Ford options - BFIII for the fleet load luggers, Territory for the Toorak taxi set, and Mondeo which is a pretty classy happy medium. None of them are direct competitors for a VE Sportswagon, but in many respects the Mondeo would be the most marketable of the lot, particularly the diesel versions. Bring it on, I say.

I think it would be a good move by Ford to bring the Mondeo Wagon over, the more options the better.

the mondeo wagon looks HOT! i actually prefer it to the hatch/sedan. the rear end of the wagon blends very well with the rest of the car.

Yep I like it. If we do indeed succeed in getting the TDCi, it will do well.

A couple of pics I put up in the Mondeo thread the other day:

Who really needs an FG wagon when we could have this?

I like this wagon too but will our Mondeo wagon have the same headlights as the pommy ones?

What are you on about? all Mondeos have the same headlights (unless your talking about Xenons, which aren't available in australia... Ford Oz being ignorant again)

There's a nice black one on display at the MMS. Make sure you pull one of the Ford guys aside and tell them it looks good and that they should import them into OZ.

Goauto have a similar story.
http://www.goauto.com.au/mellor/mell...2573FD002CADE0

With the 2.2 TDCi this would be a real alternative to Territory too.

I implore you melbournites to get down to the show and rave about this car.

If Ford don't import this car I think I might have to look @ an SS V sportswagon !!!

I hope that same boat has a few seats.
Replacement for the Forester currently only has two options.

VE Sportswagon
Skoda Octavia (either RS or 4x4)

The new forester is just towing the RAV-Trail-CRV line and has lost me.
The FG wagon *cough*, sory BF3 wagon is simply never going to make the list.
Passat's and A4 avant's are WAY overpriced - gorgeous cars, but overpriced.

Now, however!
A Mondeo TDCi Wagon? If I could get something with a manual for around 38-45k with leather and sunroof, it would certainly make the final three. And an XR5 version sure would excite me - even though the motoring press are confused by its purpose.

The photo from GoAuto is a shocker, I was stunned at how different the one at the motorshow looked from the rear, it was like it was a totally different car. It looked really good. Suprised me.

Whats with the 2.2 TD, is it wagon only or will it become available in the sedan and hatch?

Please dont compare it to the the monstrosity Tribeca. Ugly inside and out - How much cleaner does the Mondeo look!!

Better to import a great car rather than rebadge every Daewoo ever made just incase one is a success or make cars for less than 2% of the market!

New Mazda6 wagon should be investigated especially if you want manual, 2.5 manual'd cost little to run and more show and go than MondeO. The biggest advantage that the Mondeo wagon would have for me is the Auto/TDiesel combination.
