Default AU11Fairlane Ghia air cleaner box

Hi,
Does anyone know if there is anywhere that I can get a air intake box or even just the lid second hand or if other models will fit, the car is a 6cyl and is on gas but don't think that matters.
Any info would be great.
Thanks
Andrew

Wrecker will have one I'm sure, they didn't really change between EF & AU.

Try and get the lid from an EL airbox as the snorkel inside has a better flow rate and will fit the AU.

Actually, I think you mean EF, not EL. Anything from EF to AU 6 or 8 will do, and EB to ED V8 as well. There are rumours that an EF lid is best, but nothing proven - not on an AU anyway. As yours is on gas, it doesn't really matter what one you get though, as there is a larger restriction in the system than the intake outlet opening (ie the LPG mixer will be 50mm diameter). You might want to consider getting the spring clips (around $4 each from Ford) for the lid, as it will help to prevent future backfires from blowing the lid top apart.

My AUII Fairlane has an EF airbox with a pod filter inside. They fit into the bay with no problem but I think you need a small ring adapter for the hole to the engine from the box.

yes hte hole in the bum of the box where the pipe comes in is a different size to the stock item (goes from 3" upto 3.5 i THINK)

option 2 is grab the EF lid AND pipe from the elbow down and you should be sweet
(we had this issue when i fitted my 3" intake pipe and went to connect it to my AU lid and it didnt fit so me and the prev owner of my pipe had to swap lids too)

good luck
