Default which breaks

thinking of upgrading the breaks on the ford (AU) just woundering what i should upgrade to in terms of pads and rotors

youll have to tell us which series as series 1 and series 2/3 are different.

which model as some had the premium brakes

i went on my AU3 DBA slotteds all round and Bendix CT pads, improved 100% over the stock warped and glazed ones.....watch out for the screws on the rear rotors mine were a PITA

oh mine cost $300ish brand new (sealed in the box, on sale by alot) all round and $50ish i think for the pads might have been 30ish

I also want to get my breaks upgraded, but my boss says they are long enough as it is.

Viper , your best bet would be to do the BA brake Upgrade , its a Bit Fiddly and Pricey , but it puts about 3000 more kilos of pressue under your foot for peice of mind ..

What he said, no real point in trying to upgrade the AUI brakes. No matter how hard you try they will NEVER be any good.

But you do get a noticeable increase in stopping once upgraded to slotted rotors and good pads. Its a start if you dont have dollars to do the BA upgrade or better.

Yeah i have an AU I and I changed to DBA Gold Slotted & X-Drilled with Bendix CT pads, a huge difference. The rotors are a sexy piece of machinery too, look 100x times better than regular slotted's



look killer behind some open rims (I have them behind 18" Azzurros)

i have an AU1 fairlane and i upgraded the fronts to DBA 4000 series slotteds and bendix advance pads
they are AWESOME
altho mine had some random pads and dba slotteds on it when i got it
so far i havnt had brake fade going over the mountains either

the current package stops real good once she gets a bit of heat into the brakes

but the Bendix Advance pads make hardly any dust(like 20% of the amount that the standard supercheap Ferodo items make)


but nothing beats upgrading to the AU2/BA package
but sadly its all about money
altho when upgrading to the BA package you can grab a thicker whiteline etc swaybar while your there and a set of slotted rotors and good pads
