Angry how many times has your car been towed??

couldnt find the original one so......
actually found it. but it was well and truly out of date lol

my tows that im gonna admit to.
twice with my old ea....
1st time was when the startermotor died(lucky 4 me a towtruck was dropping of another car at the mechanics and i only paid 30 bucks cos i live on his way home)
2nd time was when i ran out of gas 20ks from the nearest servo that sold lpg....(petrol pump had died)

with the s-pack..... touch wood never... CORRECTION lol
1st time.. car trailer when the dizzy died 30 ks from home and i didnt have a good spare at the time
2nd time electrical issue again.
towed to a members house, now i have to trailer it tomorrow too. 120ks one way, as if a towtuck is gonna be cheaper than borrowing dads car and a car trailer
so trailer rides 3 from tomorrow

None YET, but it's sitting in the garage now, not starting! Very out of character for it actually, gonna get a guy out to look at it (who knows wtf he is doing) and hopefully tell me that it will be cheap and easy to fix. It's electrical, yay.

I won't vote until then. :P

Twice for my car

1st time dumped the coolant from the heater hose.

2nd time dumped the gearbox fluid from the trans cooler.

It has not bothered me though, RACV total care , just ring they tow, and its free very easy.

Will dig the pics out later.

Never... each time the NF has died on me, I have been able to fix it and get it home... all without any tools.

That said, I got the missus to drop me off at work today, because it isn't running lol

3 times. First time was when I crashed it heavily in 2002. First time for a mechanical issue was only across Gavin (EFendedXG's) paddock though after the fuel pump died. A few weeks later it got towed again when the clutch cable snapped in heavy traffic. The clutch cable tow was covered by roadside assist. Mind you, I've had the car for 5 and a half years, so that's pretty understandable. Here are the pics of the mechanical tows:

Mine has only seen the tilt tray once.
Once the engine was all back in and ready to fire up it was tilt trayed to exhaust shop for full system then off went of to BPT motorsport for a full tune.
Luckily i have never had to be towed by reasons of a break-down.

Never had my XA, either XC, my EA or my EF towed but as soon as I buy a 1 year old BA, on the back of a tray truck it goes. My EF never seriously failed me in 3 years, just choked a few times. EA had a couple of roadside breakdown repairs.

Once, and that was when I first got it.
It'd been sitting in the same place for a few months w/ a blown head gasket and dead battery.

Runs beautifully now (probably because of the new engine)
And looks heaps better.

Haven't been towed yet and hopefully never will be!

Worst thing it done on the road was snap the waterpump/alternator belt.

This was at Neerim Junction and a while away from any place with reception.

I improvised and tore the fabric straps off our seat covers and made my own belt with around 5 of the straps.

RACV guy was surprised and said he hadn't seen anything like it and couldn't believe the belt stayed on the pulleys for 10k's (when we got phone reception).

WELL, the EF has never broken down (369,000KM)
The el, probably will...

The EA did twice, once it flogged the yolk out on the tail shaft and the extension housing bush.
the second time it was the distributor - the bastard seized

BUT, The BA has broken down....

twice when i first got me EF, one month and 2 days after i got the car (thats 2 days after the warranty ran out cos i couldnt afford an extended one) she droped the clutch pedal on the floor cos the pedal cluster broke, no clutch = no gears = no drive, as this was at midnight the mechanic wasnt open so towed to my house, then again the next morning to the mechanic.
havent had any probs sinse though, almost 20,000k's later
