Default Flares to suit AU1 XR6 with Tickford Body Kit

Does anyone know of a company that makes flares to suit my AU1 XR6? I have the full Tickford body kit, I want to fit 9.5inch centrelines to the back and it just doesn't quite have the guard... :

What sort of flares are you after? ones that look like the old Torana/XD style?

From the vic roads web site:

The width of any replacement rim must no be:
  • More than 25mm greater than the widest wheel specified by the wehicle manufacturer for that model or wehicle series

And i think the widest wheel offered was an 8", so that would make only 9" legal.
Unless the pusuits ute's had 8.5" wheels, which i'm not sure about.

Cheers

I am in Queensland, the rules are different up here, as long as the wheels are under the guard and the rear is no more than 30% wider then they are fine. At least from memory, but those little bolt on ones are the type I am after.

thos bolt on flairs are exactly that. they bolt on. the guard will still have the same clearance under it. rolling them will be your only choice. especially if your car is lowered.

Yeah I understand that, was selling the very first bolt on flares on the market in 1978 to Torana heads...What it does do is give me room to cut the arch away, it still looks factory, if you stretch gaurds they no longer look factory.

cut the arch away? =S

putting flares on will not make your car look factory lol. most people wouldnt even notice if the guards were stretched.

why dont you just get rims in the right offset so 9.5" fits under the guards.

These are billet alloy Hand made Centrelines. The fronts are 7inch and the rear 9.5 inch. Bolt on flares look more "normal" these days than stretched guards, they would also be a lot easier to fit than stretching a sedan. The panel is the problem. I have discussed this with the panel beater and he agrees, bolt ons would not only look better, they would be cheaper to fit.

Yes my next job, talk to another beater. I do believe that a total rework of the rear guards, as opposed to "pumping" or "bolt ons" might the answer. Being new to the area makes it difficult, no local knowledge. But I am working on that. :

Might be worth contacting the owner of this club member:

Not sure if they're the same as the ones in the photo above.

He said they were fitted as an option when new, but Ford keep telling me they were never an option.... :
