Hi all, I can't find anything on this in any threads so here goes.
I want to weld a new tail pipe on my 2001 AUII Futura and was wondering if I should disconnect battery? If so, what sort of problems will/could I come up against once I reconnect battery? Any problems??? Battery would only be disconnected for a very short time. Thanks regards Rick. |

youll need the code for your stereo if you disconnect.
apart from that, i cant think of anything else that would be affected. |

you just need to follow the ecu reset procedure (do a search)

usually its good practise to disconnect the battery , i`m interested to hear info about this, doing my exhaust we did the whole job on the ground , we did`nt know wether it would affect the computer or not

i thought if it was a long period you had to redo it ex-y494??? as the ecu has forgotten whats what.???

Hi again,
All went well with the tailpipe welding. Didn't have to reset ECU as battery only unhooked for very short time, just had to recode the radio/cd player. Thanks for your help. Cheers Rick |
