Default Steering wheel stereo controls

Hi, I Have an AU1 Fairmont and the steering wheel stereo controls recently stopped worked. All three buttons do not work.

I confirmed that the cruise buttons still work. No work has been done on the car other than it sitting in the garage while I was on holidays for two weeks.

Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this?

Thanks

Well atleast that eleminates the HU as being a possible problem... Other than that i can only assume that a connection somewhere has been severed or a loom is loose somewhere down the steering column.
