Default The battery dies today

So............ I just bought my AU SR wagon some new wheels for being so good to me .And this arvo I jump in it to move it for its bath(ive got a water tank ok) and click click click........ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Any way I found a spare battery that had been sitting in my RS escort for over 1 year with out being started(due to no motor) and wolah....it started but now, when ever I select a gear or turn the air/con on or stop at an intersection the revs die down to almost flatline and every thing vibrates,Im guessing the ECU is/ has been reset from the battery change????? I dont know so if this battery doesnt last as its not as powerfull as the item it replaces ,I'll have to get a big boy back in there.
The replacment battery is a 480/85 and the original was a 550/95.

What is your battery duty for your AU?

According to Exide Battery's website, anything from a 460 upwards is fine (they list a 460, 520 & 550).

yeh, ok thanks JC,this battery is literary brand new its done about 15 laps of wakefeild park over a year ago and thats it,so it might be OK then for it, see how it goes but that doesnt explain the very low revs, will keep all informed, doing some high speed test starts tommorrow to see what happens : : :

I run an Optima Yellow Top Deep Cycle battery (D34 tio fit Falcon)
CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) at 0 deg F = 750
Reserve Capacity = 120 minutes

Works a charm on the dedicated LPG ute with a lot of stop starting.
Have had issues with a flooded engine a few times and the converter not getting LPG to the engine ... and have managed to keep cranking the vehicle for a good hour without battery drain .... a normal battery would have been dead in about 5-10minutes.

Yeah it costs more ... but hell ... it's a bloody good battery for what i need.

Any automotive battery with a rating of aronud 500 CCA, try and obtain a Calcium Maintenance free if you can, approx around $120-140 mark. Codes used would be similar to NS50P N50, 22FR520, N48, 58EF and the likes. The ECU has reset from the battery change, all your settings would be returned to factory. Could never get the put it in drive turn a/c off sequence. However, I found that getting some throttle body cleaner, and a clean rag and wiping around the butterfly, and Throttle position sensor seems to fix this.
