I think the standard instrument cluster could be used but I'm guessing it would be alot easier to use the AU one. And why would you want to keep that horrible orange cluster anyway :P.
Here's a photo of an AU cluster in an EA (taken from http://www.trueblueford.com/index2.html) |

I couldnt get the temp sensor to work with the ea dash or the speedo for that matter or i would have kept it but yeah the au one fits.... gotta get some plastic for the holes the... round peg square hole :P
no the au loom doesnt hook up to the dash, u need to swap all the wiring over (not as hard as it sounds as most stuff has the same colour wires anyway - the major wiring jobs are the steering column, aircon (inc vac replacement) and inst cluster if you choose to do it. you also need to put in the bem and smartlock barrel, well worth it when done there really isnt much EA left go fast bug has been there for a while but the smashed wallet bug is also an issue AU engine in a nice light EA with the supra box is not exactly slow though :P |

Sounds like you've built yourself a nice ride there. When mating the wiring did you join the wires directly or did you wire the EA wiring to an AU plug or vice versa? Would love to see some pics of the car up here

most of the wiring to the dash i cut the AU plug off and soldered on the ea plug and just put heatshrink on the joins so it was nice and neat
