hm does anyone get distressed over seeing that new greenpeace whaling ad? where the tourists are 'whale watching' this whale suffering a very long and painful death?
It sends shivers down my spine every time.. i fuken hate whaling.

I also hate pet stores.. they just sell cute puppies and when they get older and no longer 'cute' people just dump them.. I fuken hate it.. only registered breeders should be able to sell puppies/kittens anyone else gets a very big fine! there are to many unwanted pets around, i only went to two shelters and one pound when i looked for my dog and there are so many animals there.. makes me upset.

I do not like those whaling adds either. Essentially I think it is the same thing as bashing a dog. What defence do these whales have against a massive harpoon gun? None. They are too slow to even be able to swim away.
Ziggee my friend has a pit bull and it is a very loving dog, been looked after and never abused. But it goes nuts when I visit (too excited to see me as I got it for my friend off another friends parents) and jumps up and sometimes she bites me. This pitbull definately has lock jaw. I usually try to shove a toy in her mouth so she doesn't bite me and she grabs the toy and does not let go. Such strength in her jaw for a 20kilo dog. Such a beautiful loving dog though. But I am worried as she does not like kids (must have had a bad experience as she was a little girls dog and some other kid probably picked on the little girl) and she goes nuts and trys to attack come kids.

A former work mate caught some one baiting her dogs a while ago. She nearly ended up in jail. But the scum couldn't walk for 9 months and still ****es himself when he sees her.

I hate these stories. They get me more fired up than hearing of people being abused. When dogs and cats get opposing thumbs, they'll get their own back I'm sure.

another animal lover here, I guess after reading this post I will be doin' time with a lot of ford fans, if we see this sort of thing.
I have 14 different animals, and didn't really want to get them, but how can anyone sit back and let an animal die, or be poorly treated.
we got a dog but couldn't keep it (we have 4) so talked the mother-in-law into taking it. she takes him every where with her, and she is a much nicer person now...100% because of having an animal in her life. it's the unconditional love.

I am another person passionate about animal welfare, it sickens me to see the cruelty that humans impose on innocent creatures. Have a look at the WSPA (world society for the protection of animals) website. These guys lobby governments around the world, go into dangerous situations to rescue animals and set up sanctions to protect rescued animals and more importantly go into schools in countries where animal welfare is not high on the agenda to educate children. I have money direct debited from my bank account every month to go to this organisation. They are sanctioned by the UN and even by our own RSPCA and do great work. If you go to there website, they have a worldwide petition going to show how many people care about animals, have a vote, it doesnt cost anything, but it helps them to have numbers to put in front of decision makers. The aussie website of charity is www.wspa.org.au

Cheers

Jeff

Jesus some people have just got no brains. If I caught anybody doing something like that to my babies ( I have 2 jack russels and a pit bull cross) or indeed any other defenceless animal I'd be hard pressed to not knock them out, chuck em in the boot of my car and see if they are "brave" enough to attack my big dog off his lead, they'd jump the fence crying for their mothers lol. These people really **** me off how they think they are so brave attacking defenceless animals, and indeed people. Lock em all away I say.

couldn't agree more mate you should see the petshop at my local shopping centre, it's appalling how these animals are kept in cramped little cages. I went in the other day (my missus is always trying to talk me into getting another dog) and they had this kelpie cross I think, it was far too big for it's pen. You want a dog or cat, go to the breeder or to the pound.

I am a dog lover. I dont mind other animals but I love dogs. I would gldly do time to stop this from happening. To any dog not just my own. How ever some one at the start of this topic said that the max weight of a staffy should be 23 kg max. I laugh at you as does Jack my staffy. He is solid as not over weight. We weighed him a while ago and he was 34 kg. He is huge.

I have no tolerance...like any normal person

Ive seen other graphic cases of animal abuse on forums worse than this..ie kittens set on fire....

If i was to encounter it happening to any animal i wouldn't think twice about terminally damaging the person

We have a Golden Retriever Back home in NSW, His name is Monty and he is the most gentle natured Dog..wants to be everyones friend lol!
We call him Bear, he's that fluffy that you may well confuse him with one...in the face anyway
Mum tells me all the little stories about him whenever I talk to the family on the phone..
He lets me roll him over and give him belly rubs, likes to hold my hand and will swap paws if the other gets tired
He's like a little boy in many way's...only obediant when it suits him...He will sit for food...but if he's off having a sniff...try calling him over...he gives you one look and bolts!! I tried to tell him off one day for destroying a bucket..needless to day when i yelled at him, he winced his eyes shut and put his paw up to hold my hand (or ask me to stop yelling) I melted hehe
Recently he's started playing games with my Brother, they play ball with each other...My bro rolls the ball to him, and he nudges back to him with his muzzle..

And the other day, Mum lets him into the house, he's layed down on the rug infront of the television and started looking at them making little noises and barks at her and my brother.. he's done this three times so far!
Geez...talk about having annother little person in the house lol!! We call him the baby of the family

Im a gentle person myself but needless to say if a person or dog ever attacked Monty...i'd hate to see my bad side.

We call him Bear,
I have two gold retrievers as well, Max and Oscar or as i call them Big Ted and Little Ted.. They are just like teddy bears.. So affectionate..

My wife was walking the two dogs when an old man started yelling at her in a very unpleasent way. Something about dogs using his lawn as a toilet (wasn't our dogs as ours are toilet trained to go in a certain part of the yard). Anyway both dogs bolted straight at the man barking like crazy and growling. Lets just say my wife thought the old man was gonna have a heart attack. He quickly shut up and went back inside..

They look cuddley and are very playful but if you wanna fight they are happy to oblige.

Yes, they're certainly capable of standing up for themselves...i was walking Monty one day and as were going past the pub on the footpath on the opposite side of the Road, a Dog lurches out from underneath this Hilux and started madly barking at Monty. In response and to my supprise, Monty unleashed with this massive deep bark that I didnt even know he was capable of..the Kelpie retreats back underneath the Truck yelping...
Meanwhile the patrons out the front of the Pub had gone silent, until they see this ball of fluff come trotting out from behind the Hilux and they all bust out Laughing :

I don't love cats and it stems from the fact that I am extremely allergic to them. I have NEVER hurt one and could see no good reason to either?

When I was younger, I remember seeing 3 greyhounds hung up and skinned in the bush near home. :(

Harry (the little one) has an issue with fighting at the moment. Jealousy is the issue. Wants a peice of any dog he can that bigger than him. Embarrising!

He is a Lahsa Apso (small cute fluffy) any suggestions?
