Default Just Bought AU Headgasket, How To Identify As Im Unsure?

aii guys just picked up au headgasket, but the guy @ fords, sed its the same as a EF/EL/AU one or something, as i was very annoyed to here this as i didnt beilive him, it came in a whole kit, i can only say its black, and the part number is er6051a, i only want a AU Headgasket, ill have to take a photo n post it to show yas but somethign tells me he ordered ina EL one or something, GRRRRRRR!!!!

It's an AU one.

Interesting to note in the parts database it's listed as $94.90.

you need to ask for at least an AUII metal head gasket or AUIII will definately be metal.

jsut rang westpoint fords, n talked to shane, he said there retail is 86 dollars, and the part number matches his part number, n he asked if it has 3 layers and little gold pin holes in it, which it does, so he sed yep same one, woot, thanks guys

yeah, easiest way to tell is if its a multi layer gasket made of metal.

It is definitely an AU gasket, just checked on the ford catalogue (I work in Ford service). All part numbers that start with ER are AU1 part numbers, then of course you have AU2 part numbers which were released for AU2. Apart from door actuators there aren't many other parts that start with AU3. Many AU2 parts superseded their ER predecessors. Anyways... Back to work

i gave ford a ring today and the bloke i talked to said the head gasket is the same in all the AU series. quoted me $74
