Default heat shield???

I was parking my car and i accidently whent a little bit to forward and didnt relize there was a small ditch.... so my front wheels being stuck i chucked it in reverse and all my car wanted to do was rip a standstill.... whent forward hoping for a small run up to get over it but that didnt help.... so in the end put some wood down to make the ditch level with the ground and got it over but then i saw my exhaust heat shield was on the floor it had been riped off.... so basically is there any problem with not having that on???? and yes i know i fed up

Thanx
