Default Burnt out cars - Hume Highway

I drove up the Hume yesterday, and between Wangaratta and Gundagai, and there were at least 6 burnt out cars on the side of the road.

Difficult to see exactly what sort of car, but they all seemed to be small 4 cylinder hatches.

Anyone got any idea of why or what?

If they’re Yaris GR models, I’d agree it’s possibly insurance. The number of them seemingly written off is impressive.

It’s just one of those youth crime trends otherwise. Probably being spoken of on the relevant Police LAC Faceache pages - which are modestly functional even if you’re not a member of that site.
