Timmy im free from 2-4.30 today, bring the car around if you want and ill have a listen, because ive got a noice that appears when i start the car. All it was, was the belts rubbing on the plastic surrounds which was easy to fix.

Nah mate she's still running like a dog with petrol, its the stop start short trips that i do that causes it, you would get 500-600k's if you where driving on a long highway journy. :dj:

Ive heard today that petrol will reach $1.40 per litre today also :

how exactly is the fan going around everywhere?

Is the fan gone as you say? Gone where?

Ditto for fanbelt.

More accurate description please?

Hang on, I just re-read the thread title... You have an EF...

Serpentine belt gone?

As for a fan... are your thermofans dead?

No joe, me and luke had a look and he thought it was the power stearing pumps.

then i took it to a mechanic today and he took a look and said it was the fan belt.

Did he elaborate or just say "it's the fan belt"???

What exactly is wrong with it? Is it not there anymore? Is a pulley out of whack? Are there cracks in the belt?

EFs have one singular lone solo bigass serpentine belt that winds around everything.

lol fix it yourself! (a few hundred = ripoff for probably less than an hour TOPS for a mechanic)

Buy a replacement set for <$200 and you're laughing. Look carefully enough and you might get some for well under $100 if you're lucky.

Just make sure you get EF/EL thermos and not AU ones, if you want to do a straight swap.
