I highly rate the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 245 35 19s on mg SC GT also. You can see a pic and a quick write up here. https://fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11484216
They have now done a couple hundred kms and i reckon they grip even better. I wont be putting anything else on the GT when they come up for replacement. They are not a quiet tyre, but the grip wet/dry is unreal.

I went from Dunflops to Nexens to 2 sets of PS 91s, then my present set of Michelin PS4S, in that order, so I have not been able to test the Dunflops against the Michelins back to back. The Dunflops scarred memories for life on my brain- but yeah- not able to comment on the Dunflops v Michelins back to back in that sense. I think I suffer from PTSD from the Dunflops and doubt I will ever buy another set of Dunlops for my v8 ever again. It will take something very very special for me to be enticed to that brand ever again.

I had a set of Pilot Sport 4S fitted one month ago on my G6ET and find them a great tyre in comparison to the oem Dunlop Sport Maxx which let me down on numerous occasions. As asagaai reviewed that it has the softness on the initial turn in and more so due to the softer set up on the G6E.I have not experienced any road noise as a few of the previous posts have stated, the Dunlops were noisy on smooth surfaces. My first set of Michelins and they have not disappointed.

Have had 245/40ZR18 97Y Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres fitted & the front wheels aligned.
What tyre pressures are you guys running? The tyre retailer recommended 38 psi. When I mentioned the Owners Manual recommends 30 psi, he then said 36 to 38 psi. I checked them when I got home & they were set at 42.2 psi. |

Following the fitment of the Michelin's last week have just run them over a distance of 1400km from Sydney to Moree & return.
The pressure was set at 38psi front & rear. Generally the speeds were as sign posted. The road surfaces were varied from brand new to numerous repairs in sections & no abnormalities in road noise were detected. Contrary to some reports, there is more wind noise evident at 110km/h on a smooth road than tyre noise (with the windows up). |

I don’t rate the Dunlop’s but I was at a car show back in 2016 and there was a Porsche GT 3 and it looked brand new and it had Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres. They had a R on them after the Maxx. And there tread wear rating was really low like 90 or so from memory. So they can make good tyres I’m assuming.

Must admit though,I am a bit “biased” towards Michelin.Had them on cars since the very early sixties.Michelin X,XAS,XM1 & XM2,you name it I have had most of them.Just great tyres,if it was not for them,I would undoubtedly use Continental.

Premium Contact 6 for those wanting a sport tyre. Goodyear F1 Assymetric 5 in the middle and better value-for-money than either.
