Default Engine crane brissy?? anyone wanna earn a carton, parts??

Hi,

I need an engine crane or anything that will help me change a motor.

Ill offer a slab of crownies, or any part from my old EF motor which still is in good nic... Block and head are ИИИИed though but i can offer rocker gear, cam, intake setup, fuel rail, injectors and so on... Have a lot of NA/EA fairlaine LTD stuff here too.

Basically i need an engine crane or even a block & tackle(even though i dont know where im gonna hoist it from...)..

Is there any way other than a crane or something to get the motor in and out ? I had a hard enough time with a 1.5L pulsar motor...

Anyways, Cheers.

I have a tractor with a Jib but I am a little way away - 8 hrs. If your car is driving, throw the spare engine in the boot (It works I have done it) and come on down. I will even give you labour for free.

it's like $50 to hire one for 24 hours, slab of crownies would be almost $50 and crownies are ИИИИ :P. You should only need it for a day, pull motor out in the morning, have lunch, put new motor in, return engine crane. Done!

MAN! Did you have like five guys working??? It took me two days to do an AUI6 with reinstalling the turbo. And they were long days. I also had to transfer the harness of the old motor. I have done red motors in three hours but not the new stuff!

yeah that's it just get motor out and new motor in on mounts. The vacuum lines and plugs don't take much it's more the mounts and accesories that consume time.

I don't know what companies in bris hour the cranes out, but Handy Hire here are pretty good. I think it was $38 for the day. Pcik up in the morning drop off by 5. Certainly a lot easier than liftin it by hand. I was really surprised to see how much heavier a 4.0 is than a 202. Me and a mate did the engine swap in his Kingswood by hand. Wouldn't happen in the EF.

If your gonna hire, find one not open Sundays, and hire on the Saturday. They usually only charge the 1 day rate, and give ya till 8am Monday to return it.

Thats how I did it until i bought one. The last one I hired couldnt lift a Clevo, the ram kept bypassing so I spent the cash and got my own.

I watched a bloke at work who drives a franna crane remove an engine from a car for a bloke.

The bloke who owned the car seemed frantic and wanted the engine out asap.

The bloke in the crane wrapped chains around the engine, and started bouncing the car with the weight of the car pullin down on the engine!!!

Eventually came out, with gearbox, badly bent tailshaft, half the exhaust and all of the vaccum and fuel lines fuxed lol
