Actually, I went and did an online insurance quote yesterday (not telling what for, it wasn't the ute) and noticed that excess for females was around $250 cheaper than males.

WTF did we ever do to deserve that? :P

Its based on reality and fact - two areas that are not your strong point by the sound of it...

What I did was re-do the quote I did yesterday for the exact same vehicle, exact same details, exact same place of residence, but made the person female instead of male.

Bear in mind this is fully comprehensive...

Male - $1215 p/a
Female - $1305 p/a

Yet excess was around that $200 mark I mentioned earlier cheaper in favour of females.

Now thats a funny photo imagine explaining that to an insurance company ;)

I wouldn't worry too much about paying more for insurance (being male) after all we get cheaper hair cuts ;)

Online quoting is notorious for being inaccurate. It also depends a lot on age.

The excess is dearer because at the end of the day the insurance company wants money when a claim is made - Males are a more risky from an insurance point of view so the excess is higher – simple.

It is based on statistics so logically if more males own that type of vehicle then the premium will be lower for them to attract them to insure with the company and because the excess is higher the insurer is still technically safe.

The photo is so obviously just a result of Google trolling as it is clearly in America. I am sure if I did a search I could find some equally as entertaining photos of men.

As for the haircuts - Touché... :

I would call this good luck rather than good fact

Besides, just for arguments sake.

Most women drivers are either housewifes whos travel is minimal, hair, nails pick kids up,
OR they are secretarys or similar, mostly indoors for the most of the day !

MEN, on the other hand are labourers, sales reps, truck drivers etc that are mainly on the road for the longer duration of the day and consequently as the law of averages go,

"will be in a situation to have higher statistics"

Wheres KEEPLEFT when you need a statistics GURU. :

I am female, and I am not a very good driver, although I pretend to be.

Just ask Sagerian who always complained I don't stay in my own lane, hog the road, tailgate etc......and I have just put my 3 month old car in to be repaired from smashing it.

Yep, men are better drivers.

That was only an example but if your gonna compare statistics you need to compare the same.

By the way, im not on either side as i sit on the fence, my wife has to be the "luckiest" driver i have ever known

I have only read this article in the open road publication but the statistics collection company expressed the lack of numbers made it unfeasable to anylise

Anyways, I wasnt lookin to get into an in depth debate, was only quoting what i had read.

Sorry if i got your back up, no pun intended.

I let my fiance drive my cars ALL the time, SHE is a great driver, although she has been in an accident where HER car was written off, i still let her drive, since she wasnt at fault.

My attitude is shared by more than just one person, go home and make a new pro-woman poster to wave about at your next womens rights rally, you moron. out:

its a shame I cant really say what I want to say to you ... but Im sure you probably get the drift............
Im not a whining feminist or any sort of feminist for that matter......
I do believe we are all equal and if you cared to read anything without the attitude, you would see that I stated that both genders have good and bad drivers, or did that go over your small narrow mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get a grip on reality ................ if you want to take a battle into PM by all means.......... but I think it should not be continued here MORON!!!!!!!!!!!

I recon my wife drives our XR8 better than I on the road she doubles the amount of klm's the car can do on a tank of petrol and running costs overall are lower.

I drive faster than her and have had more fines over the years she still has none , this makes her a better driver on a road ,If a problem occurs she would probley panic and maybe make a mistake ,IMO i would keep better control of the car ,this does not make me the better driver .

Females seem to have a better atitude on the road than males IMO

My wife is an awesome driver, as are many of them.
Sex makes no difference to driver skill.. period.
