Default thoughts on black Altezza AU headlights

Hey guys who has seen what the aftermarket black Altezza headlights look like on the AU ,they look kinda the same as the XR setup but are made to fit the AU
I reckon they look great with the dark look but havnt seen one already fitted..good alternative to the XR look

I had the chrome ones on my ute back in ... hmmm ... 2004 I think it was.
The beam pattern was rubbish and the reflectors housings burnt through. Poor poor quality.

If a nice look you are better off pulling apart a standard set of AU headlights and painting the inner bezel surrounds.

I have seen some up close and I prefer the painted AU option. I did mine but only a bit

Absolutely disgusing. You will never gain any credability as a modifier with that stuff! Modify your AU to be classy!

Memories .... they were damn ugly ... and in chrome.
Was running HID in them .... and still crap.

This was from the AU BBQ Meet in Melbourne in 2006 ... and I had them for a while before that.

I changed to Projectors in standard AU housing with a black Bezel made by The Doc at the time. Actually bought them at that meet when i was there.

Why would you not just go a clean set for Fairmont lights. By far the cleanest look!

Sounds like you have already made up your mind. Why ask here?

Edit:

Sorry, I should quantify my last. You have asked a question in an area full of AU enthusiasts. Most of us love our cars as they come from the factory, Then we tend to upgrade with factory options and personalise in a tasteful (descrete) fashion.

The point is, our cars generally are true to their showroom condition, but just enhanced.

This is just my thoughts on the AFF AU area. Subtle changes that make someone who knows cars look twice, is what is all about for me!

Cheers

Each owner is an individual and may do what ever mod's he or she thinks fit to their own vehicle - however, in my case Altezzas are to be left in the back shed where they belong a long, long time ago.

Paint the insides of the headlights body colour or black. Bit of work but costs you under $50 to do it and please don't put those dreadful altezzas on they look shocking!!!

If you're putting on an xr front then why bother at all with the current headlights?

Have a look at a T1 or T2 TE/TS50, these have the bezel colour coded from factory. I'm fortunate because having a Silhouette coloured TE mine are black and look great. IMO the Sparkling Burgandy & Galaxy Blue variants look... odd.

These headlights are said to add about 40-50 killawasps to your AU.....

These headlights are said to add about 20-25 killawasps to your AU.....

These headlights will not add any killawasps what so ever.....

Yep. And about the same number of rep points on ff.com.au.

The aftermarket head/tail lights available for AU are just

These on the other hand were pretty nice....

Too bad they weren't available to be purchased.
