lol.. the guy in the orange shirt starts curling up and sayin "owww" before he even hits her.

Surely the long jumper / triple jumper should have seen her before it got to that stage. Though if he is totally focused on what he was going to do, it might be plausable. Tunnel vision and all that

You guys dont do much running do you? the first 15m are spent with your head looking down just in front of where your next step is as you make sure you get off the line cleanly and efficiently, you arent looking down the track. check his eyes and head level

ouch! yeah seems to me he's looking down, and only reason he sort of braced for impact is because he probably saw her feet/bottom half come into view just before he hit her...

Spot on. Foot placement and acceleration is even more important in long/triple jump than a 100m sprint as they only have about 20 metres to hit terminal velocity. A pro long/triple jumper will know exactly how many strides until they hit the board for take off from their starting point. They may not be counting it, but you get a gut feeling when it is off.

It is very common for a long/triple jumper to be 1/2 to 2/3rd the way down their run and not notice the 'no jump' signal from the pit if something has occurred as a direct result of this.
