Too small for my needs, I’d be worried one day I may need to move an Aircraft Carrier and I’m not 100% sure if this would do the job.

Curious to see no Ecoboost option yet. I wonder if it would be too hard of a sell, or maybe an appropriate engine spec isn't ready yet?

There's an all-new 3.5 V6 EcoBoost in the pipeline for the 2017 F150. 450HP and a CGI block. I wonder if that will appear on the 2018 Super Duty?

This isn't official from Ford, but this article suggests the 6.7 diesel will be boosted to almost 500 HP and over 1,000 lb-ft. So in metric, almost 370 kW and over 1,355 Nm. Should be able to pull a jet ski with that.

I think there is an option for a spare Fiesta in the back for when you get a flat tyre.

If I ever feel the need to take up 3 parking spaces, I know what to buy now

a mate at work has one, takes up 4 parks actually!!! I don't know how an ecoboost would go in one with the tare weight and towing capacity youd still need a pretty big boosted donk to move it around

The 2.7 and 3.5 do really well in the F150. Even the 2.7 spins the back wheels on a full-throttle start. They would move the F250 and F350 around just fine, but likely not suited to pulling weight beyond what an F150 can handle, so probably no point.

The US version of the Transit has the current 3.5 EcoBoost but it's detuned to 230 KW / 540 Nm. It's fun to drive! Accurate a like a rocket and that torque is instant. Don't know if it will get the new engine. I wouldn't be surprised to see the 2.7 EcoBoost make it to the Ranger when it becomes available in the US.

Well the numbers are out on the 2017 diesel. It has 330 kW / 1,253 Nm at 1,800-2,000rpm.
Here is the F450 pulling over 13,600 kg. This is going up a 6% grade as fast as it can at 11,000 ft above sea level (which reduces power output). It is able to maintain at least 65km/h the whole way. https://youtu.be/Dzx7SL5AbE0 |
