pretty much what the manufacturers recommends for that type of vehicle.
A lot of people will have a favourite brand that they use regularly.
All I can say is change it regularly with an oil suited to the manufacturer recommendations and you can't go wrong really..

I change mine every 5,000km and it comes out as clean as it goes in ... also mne a high mileage vehicle as well ... and LPG too ... I stick to name brands though ... but whatever is cheaper at the time "that is suited to what is reccomended".

Did i mention going by manufacturers recommendations (enough) ... LOL.

All details should be in the owners handbook (if you are lucky enough to have one).
If not ... I am bored at work and I will get mine out and type it out word for word ... LOL

Agreed. Also have used Havoline and its about the same, was very impressed.

Apart from them I've tried most others and, apart from Mobil1 and the Shell full synthetic, nothing else seemed to work as well.

I use to use Magnatec and a standard Ford filter changed every 5000km which seemed to work fine.

Recently put Nulon 100% synthetic 10-40 and a pureOne filter, cant say ive really noticed a difference yet, will see how clean the oil comes out I guess.

I get a little lifter noise just after a hot start, dont think thats attributable to either of the oils tho.

i used that new Castrol Edge 5w30 as is reccomended on my filler cap on thursday..
it seems to be providing a nice quiet engine with no start up noise that i have heard
with a valvoline oil filter
after i did the change i took it easy for the 1st few kays to let the oil get into everything before giving it a boot full etc etc

mine gets toped up that regularly I don't even bother to do oils changes anymore lol j/k

no, it uses a bit of oil but always gets changed by the book- Ford have stages of using Castrol Formula R synthetic or Mobil 1 synthetic- I buy a 5 litre to top it up between changes and it's expensive stuff, but what they recommend.......

I normaly use magnatec and seem to have to change it too much. Also I see more metal debris when using this oil. I then switched to nulon oil and got more shavings in my oil .Lastly I went to mobil synthetic and it has outlasted all other oils by 3 times .As a bonus there is absolutely no visible signs of metal spots at all. This is my first bottle and I will definately get it again.
