Both those links refer to the LR Focus, I don't think the LS, LT or LV have a fuel filter.
I just recently bought the Haynes 2005 to 2009 Focus repair manual and it has no mention of a Fuel Filter. To be honest I'm pretty surprised about that but after checking out the underside of the car I cant see one anywhere. There is a big charcoal canister at the rear of the fuel tank but that is all I could see. My Focus is a 08 LT by the way. |

My guess is that it probably has a permanent fuel filter in the fuel tank.

Its a Dec 05 model ... No filter anywhere ...just lines running to the tank... Is the late 05 model the cutoff for no external filter ,,,? |

Put one in.
Get an aftermarket filter (easier to change) some 2x Proflow AF109-05BLK hardline adapters. Cut fuel line use the hard line adapters measured to fit filter. Perfect. |

Would have to look into it a little more and ask questions.
I used the above method to replace OEM filter. FG I should add. They are a bastard to undo and going to run e85. So cut fuel lines and removed replaced with Aftermarket one. |
