Default Which lights are better

Hay guys I have an au2 and fitting t3 kit when I decide to get the damn thing painted. Now my car is white and currently has these tail lights;

I found on ebay though for these lights it says "Tail lamps are ADR standard but not approved"? So im thinking if I get hit up the bum bum I might have no insurance.

After seeing this pic -> http://www.awcinfo.com/images/wallpa...ixr50small.gif

Im wondering if I should get these;

I got my current ones from burg and they have that little corner nick in the light which sucks.

So im wondering do I keep my current ones or get ones like on the xr50 car?

I have the second set on my car (XR8). Personally, I prefer the styling of the top ones, but the fact that the bottom ones are ADR approved is a bonus.

On a white car, you would be better off with the fwully schick chrome ones moit! Seriously - ~nudge~ has the chrome ones on his AU Fairmont, and they actually suit the car. The dark ones are better for dark coloured cars (blue, black, green etc), IMO.

Ah I don't wanna go the chrome ones as Ill have the back headlights so wanna keep tail lights black. I did prefer the styling of the top ones but I think Id have to replace them anyway to get rid of that damn problem they came with.

Not really keen on either style myself, but I'd go for #2.

Go to Repco, ALL the tailights they sell are ADR approved and they are pretty similar to those ones.

Im thinking number 2 for a change. Iv got the first ones atm but they just dont really appeal to me anymore. I reckon repco would be mega expensive.

I would go with jc's suggestion of getting the chrome ones for a white car. If mine were white I'd get them or leave them standard.
oh yeah, the car in pic #2 is mine lol

Iv seen the chrome ones on a white car they just appeared so mega ugly. Im thinking of trying the second ones. That or maybe even go back to stock but I dunno about that.

i like the idea of stock tail lights. S2 or 3, with the clear indicator section. look much cleaner IMO and you dont have those massive black lines where the plastic is stuck to the frame of the light.

Sometimes those sort of light make a car look cheap... so be weary. i have a white XR8 AUII and the factory lights on that look quite nice in my opinion, really nice clear line accross the bottom. Up to you ultimately, but im with the factory lights mate!

The only thing I didn't like with the stock lights was the sort of 'jewl' design they had going made it look a big girly. Like the red was a little on the lip stick looking side. If only they made them like the bf lights.

On my AU3 Forte (Liquid Silver) the original taillights made the rear end look small and narrow, so I fitted the chrome version of the #1 pictured lights. This made the rear end of the car look bulkier and a lot better IMO.

Recently I fitted an AU3 XR8 spoiler, and the aftermarket lights looked odd with the spoiler, and made the spoiler look small. I refitted the original taillights and the whole thing now looks much better, more integrated.

My 2c worth...
