That's the problem with Australians. While the rest of the world fights for its automotive manufacturing industries, we are too busy bickering over some childish brand rivalry all while under our noses our industries are being sold out, our country swamped with cheap Asian imports and our jobs and prosperity being sent overseas.

I respect your opinion, but who says that the nation needs Holden? There are plenty of countries our size that don't manufacture cars.

In regards to having Holdens rather than imports, I would never buy a Holden so that has no relevance.

Seriously, quit while you can kid, your comments are pathetically childish in tone and offer no substance or credibility. Opinions are fine but trolling the obvious is not.

You may have not realised, but the majority of countries that don't manufacture vehicles or components wish they did - why ? Because it brings prosperity to the people and the land. So in short YES we need Holden, as much so Toyota, BHP, Kraft, SPC, Orica etc etc and every other major player in their respective field, just as we needed Ford.

You may be a self proclaimed one eyed supporter, just as I along with many other forum members are, its just we don't wear horse blinkers and appreciate the love of cars more so than a love of badges.

I thought these Forums had an age requirement of 18+ but I may be wrong.

Just did a search on US cars.com and found 308 SS with dealres so the vehicles are getting out there.

I'll post November sales figures when I get them next Tuesday...

Camaro inventory is huge at the moment (over 28,000 cars) so I would expect that Chevrolet is readying
some big incentives heading into winter..not good news for the SS which will be demanding top dollar.

Let me clarify - when I say Government, I don't mean THE Government as in Parliament. I meant that I work in a Government Agency.

I was asked a question about my job security and I answered it truthfully. You have no idea how much I am achieving and the impact that I have on the community, so once again, why get personal?

You probably have no idea of the flow on affect the closing of the local car industry will have. I was only just speaking to essentially a 'mum and dad' business that supplied the Australian auto industry. Orders went from 3000 units a week to 1000, do you realise how many small business' you crumble? Do you realise it's not the 1200 odd jobs in the plant that will go?

I really don't think you do...But hey, working for the Government has more than it's fair share of perks doesn't it!

1. I work for a Government Agency/Department. As long as I perform, I keep my job. If I don't perform, I am OUT. That is the truth. I was asked a question about my job security (which was a totally irrelevant question mind you). There is no smugness in the truth.

2. I worked damn hard to get where I am. I worked in an industry that was going south, and went to any job interview that I could find. I ended up getting a job in a Government Department that directly assists the community.

3. Perks working in a Government Department? Of course there are! And I am grateful for the job security. I definitely don't take it for granted, that's for sure.

more skilled workers on the market, and that some companies may have a chance to exchange less skilled.

Anyway, back on topic - I think it will be very hard for the SS to achieve success over in the US based on its price point and the tastes of American buyers.
