Losing the Aussie cars and its industry is bad.
Sure its being subsidised but I'd rather subsidise an Australian industry that employs thousands than tip 300 million to offshore countries with their hands out for aid, for it to be soaked up and look like its gone into an abyss and see. Not high for it other than bragging rights by some self righteous ****** politicians. It needs preserved, sure it needs to be looked at in a huge way to work better but look at the UK, it has next to nothing in engineering now apart from foreign made white goods (Nissan at Sunderland ) and ford make their cars in Belgium, disgraceful. Don't let it wash away, it won't come back ! :( |

http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthr...=local+content
here is the figures directly from the article, you can shove them up your ****........ """About 50 per cent of the current Holden Commodore is made up of locally-sourced components, compared to 70 per cent for the Ford Falcon and 65 per cent for the Toyota Camry, according to figures supplied by the car makers. But less than half of the parts that make up the new globally-developed 2017 Commodore are expected to be sourced locally, bringing it closer to the Cruze small car, which has 30 per cent local content."""" this article is holden suggesting they will be selling up to 5000 a year.http://www.edmunds.com/car-news/2014...cat=affiliates the latest reports are way below that for yearly sales and the government investigation reported this and holdens claim to sell this many..and the point is the gov will not accept such low volume sales if they want more money handed out to them. There are more articles with precise details.....but I don't think I need to prove myself anymore. Look it up yourself!!!!! |
