I have two magazines at home..

1. Motor Magazine from 1997, VS calais with Supercharged V6, 165kw version (detuned from VX) doing 6.7 seconds 0-100 and 14.7 quarter mile, bog stock, magazine tested.

2. I have a motor comparo in 1998 between VTSS holden 5.0, VT S Supercharged V6, AU XR8 and AU XR6. The Super6 VT was 0-100 in 7.1 seconds and quarter mile 15.1, bog stock auto, quickest of the whole group. The AU XR8 and VTSS were manual cars.

Im being serious people, these cars have some really good performance, very underrated and only because it was overshadowed by LS1. they are about half way between a N/A 6 and a XR6T/BOSS/LS1 performance wise or level with a AU XR8. They will belt the lot over 200m (stock street tyred).

If you want proof (substance) , PM me your email and Ill scan you pages. I might even have some old 0-100km/h videos showing they are about mids 6s 0-100.. If you want you can post them up for everyone to see.

1. Firstly, the VS calais has nothing to do with anything. But for arguments sake, the VS has a better power/weight ratio than the VXII.

2. Wow 15 seconds over 400m.......... how does that justify any of the praise you heap on this car? Like i said, if the only claim you have is the car decimates all over the first 20 metres of a race, who cares???

You cant run a quick 1/8th mile then run 15 seconds over the 400m............... its all relative. If it runs a **** 400m, its gonna run a **** 1/8th mile

Nice, good luck should be a good solid daily if all checks out fine.

You use to have an AU? was that the one that went swimming in the floods?

In 2009 I took my stock BA turbo to Gazzanats and had some fun....

Next year I took the stock bar shift kit VXS Pack S/C V6 in and managed to have a heap more fun...I mean heaps.

More fun to power-skid at stock power
More fun to burnout at stock power
More fun overall really!

Now that OP has chosen the AU I assume you will float away and have a peaceful nights sleep AuMont?

Even my E series with XR6 AU111 motor that I just sold would not come close to a well running stock VX S/C.....definitely nowhere near a VS11 Calais.

I love not being bias....gives me a peaceful nights sleep lol

dont get too upset mate, its only a friendly debate about a gutless commodore. No need to take it personally along with some random bro science thrown in to make a point?

Bloke asks for opinions on what a VX Calais would be like as a daily...

Thread turns into a chest beat about how X car can be X fast down the 1/4...because 1/4 mile times are heaps relevant to the question that the OP asked...

Is this high school?
