Default Anyone recognize this badge?

Spotted this on the road the other day stopped at a set of lights in front of me.
I haven't seen that badge before. Can anyone let me know what it is?

Cheers,
Matty.

That's a strange type of number plate. Anyone know what it is?

As for Mahindra - IMO it is a crime against the Australian public to allow these abominations to be sold in this country.

Why are people so unkind :(

Probably wont last long enough to justify fitting a proper set of number plates to it

Rear wheels must have a lot of travel in the vertical judging by the styling on the rear 1/4 & door. Could be an allowance for the extra weight to be carried.

Mahindra XUV500 $29k or $32kawd.

The design is unmistakable. With bold, glorious lines that trace the world's most agile animal in action. Muscular wheel arches that accentuate its impressive, broad stance. And the distinct, paw styled door handles that you can't tear your eyes off. But the fierce, assertive look is most apparent head on. One glance at the intimidating, jaw-like honeycomb grille and you'll notice the vehicle's innate desire to pounce at anything that stands before it.

Someone must have a lot of imagination. And there would be some non car minded people out there that would actually buy it.

I thought you where having a laugh until I clicked the link.

This time next year there will be 1000's of them on the road.

No auto option, that rules it out for most of the population here.

lol Wow just checked out the site they claim the common rail diesel 2.2L 4 cyl ute does 0-60 in 5.7 seconds that's quicker than a BA XR8 lol.

That SUV says it has a W8 2.2L turbo common rail diesel I reckon its 4cyl with 6 speed and a monocoque chassis and a chilled centre console to keep those tinnies cold on the drive home although only 104KW and 330nm.
Diffs are Eaton.

Apparently this company is indian and has 20% aussie backing and in 2011 their 100 year anniversary they bought a majority stake in Ssangyong prob why they're soo ugly.
To be honest though I like the interior its two tone leather with all the mod cons incl sat nav, climate control, Courtesy lighting in the door handles and stuff.
The quality coming out of these sort of countries are getting better and better in my opinion.

Seems they're more trying to get into the commercial market though.

Always found it funny that they do 0-60kms/hr in India for their performance benchmarks but with the traffic there, its not all that surprising.

Also, for all those saying these cars wont last and are built poorly, remember there are designed for India with roads FAR WORSE than anything Australia has to throw at it and they run very well there. The Scorpio (Pikup here) and the XUV have been very successful there and have been very reliable. Driven one there and it wasnt all that bad to drive.

There is a bit more maturity in the Indian cars VS the Chinese cars IMO (of what we get here.). Also with the cost of fuel in India, they will be very efficient engines in their cars

Mahindra own GippsAero (formerly Gippsland Aeronautics) which is the sole remaining Australian fully certified aircraft manufacturer, and is also the current Type Certificate holder for the GAF Nomad.

The GA-8 Airvan etc. are Australian designed, so they fortunately do not inherit the Cheetah looks .

I work on airvans, not too bad to work on. And yeah they don't look as bad as that thing up there!

i think that Mahindra was started by 2 indian brothers who bought a licence to build willys jeeps at the end of world war 2 . they built the bodies and used jeep running gear with peugeot engines. they were still making these and imported some of them into australia in the `90s. they do make a lot of tractors and small 4x4 utes that are supposed to be quite good quality, but they should have sacked the body stylist when they bought into Sanyong . i have seen a couple of those wagons on the road.

Your description reminds me of that (Pakistani) car designer on that British custom car show (his partner is the bald british mechanic). He uses 'animal' inspiration for his designs.
