Default ZG fairlane,1953 Customline

Grandfather is selling his ZG fairlane and 1953 Customline and we need some advice on how much to ask for them. The fairlane is a 302 column auto all original, immaculate condition save for some filler in the bonnet and above the back quarter panel. No other rust anywhere. The cussy is complete but in need of a lot of restoration, has a lot of rust in the bottom of the doors, the sills and around wheel arches. Was last driven 17 years ago and has been in the shed ever since. We just want to ask a fair price for these cars but not sure where to start.Oh and the fairlane has rego til may 2013.Cheers,Cindy

Hi Cindy

The Fairlane looks great. Shame noone in the family wants to keep her

I would list it for $8500-$9000 but selling price might be closer to $7k

Assuming the rust is limited to where you have stated

If it was a 351 it would have been $3-$4k more

Good luck with the sales

If I got $6K to $7K for the ZG, I'd be happy. 302 column isn't the most collectable.

Have a look at this one.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/110900406...84.m1423.l2649

Same condition as yours and same engine, so $6k would be your sell price, if you could squeze $7k out of it, you will be doing well.

Advertise in Just Cars magazine, it has the best audience in my opinion

Sale will take a while but you get the best price.

eBay is a fire sale at best. People like to view what they are buying. Don't rush the sale.

True. I'd rather potential buyers have a good look first and eBay is a bit too hit and miss to bother with I think
