Default Problem and Answer: Gas Backfire Issue

hey guys

just wanted to share my recent experiences i know its probably pretty obvious but thought it might help someone in the future.

So problem was my car was backfiring occasionally then all the time, so I put a new set of plugs in and the problem went away, a month or two later had the same problems (i do about 600-700kms a week), some backfiring and a new set of plugs solved the problem.

I thought about it and came to the conclusion the new sets of plugs wernt lasting anywhere near where they should, the last set started backfiring 1300km after they were put in. I also changed my air filter just incase as it wasnt that old but old enough.

Its one of those things, you dont think to much of it, it was oh just need a new set of plugs.. ect.. (sorta why im sharing)

So the problem ended up being my coil pack, but i knew it was something in the ignition system (I have ice or hurrican leads) one or the other didnt think they were the issue but i wanted the problem solved so i bought coil pack and a set of genuine falcon leads ($60 plus postage from ebay)

So after changing the coil pack the problem is solved... but just wanted to share my experiences about the short life of the plugs before having issues.

Hope it helps someone.

fairly common on LPG , LPG is more demanding when it comes to ignition and I have found factory leads best for LPG too. you will probably find the coil pack would work fine on a straight petrol car as petrol is not as fussy when it comes to ignition
