Default Wiring in a trailer plug with genuine dealer fitted reverse sensors...the brown wire

Hi, just wondering if someone could help out with wiring in the trailer plug(it is the compatible version) to a 2006 territory, with reverse sensors. the lid switch has a normally open contact, closes when the trailer plug lid opens. Is there a way to incorporate this in to the reverse sensors, the dealer fitted type. There is a spare brown wire coming off the reverse unit.

Hi. Try earthing the brown wire when the car is in reverse with something in the sensor range.....if it stops beeping when you earth the wire and starts again when you lift the wire then run it to earth through the switch in the plug. Cheers MD
