Mate, the only thing you HAD to worry about was your car being greater than two years old.
I am very happy for you cause this means you will get a new car!!! The finance company will happily swap their secured interest in your old car to your new one. Don't let the incompetence of the phone operator cause you any more concern. Go to sleep happy in the knowledge that you will get a brand new one |

Awesome update guys! I faxed off the registration papers and all other relavent info that the insurance company wanted.
I contacted the total loss team shortly after, turns out I am getting a brand new 2012 XR6. I picked 3 prefered colours in order of most prefered; Kinetic, Silhouette and Edge. It might take a few weeks though. |

I love our Nitro FG, and I reckon that a Kinetic FG2 looks the goods Any of the colours chosen will be good though. Plus you get an FG2!

That is brilliant news!
Now make sure you don't get a 2011 plated cheapie or not the current 2012 FG2 as you should be given the latest vehicle. I'm so happy you stuck it to those ****** at AAMI!

Yes! My new car is here! I went and had a look at it, so excited to pick it up tomorrow. It came of the factory line 16 days ago! Now, because I'm concerned of the methods the dealer will use to clean the car I asked they don't clean it. Problem is, it is seriously dirty, I want to take her for a cruise tomorrow but it has to be clean, and after work I'll be to tired to hand wash her properly. Would it be ok to take it to the car wash and first pre soak, then high pressure soap and finish with a high pressure rinse? Just to get it to an acceptable level till the weekend. This won't in anyway damage the clear coat or paint will it?

I would have thought the car will still be covered in its protective wax, which the pre-delivery team normally clean off ?

Never heard of the protective wax and who are the pre-delivery team? All I know is the dealer is NOT cleaning my car. I went over the paint with a bright LED, absolutely no swirl marks at all, just how I want it =D I assume this protective wax will come off after the first wash, I still think the dealer is going to clean my car unfortunately as it is quite dirty and they probably won't let it out looking the way it does.

I've been through this before. Be very specific about your request, ask them to clean it, but not to touch the paint work with any polishes etc. I didn't have an issue with my dealer.

Thanks jdp80 =)
I have spent the past few weeks cleaning out the garage, it can actually fit 2 cars now! Before you couldn't even walk in it :P Now I just need to take proper care of this car (even though I spent 3 hours each week cleaning the other one :P) and definitely not putting my "**** factor" subs back in. I might link a vid in the future of what they did to the other car, (knocked out the left tail light, rear vision mirror fell off, the trim on the A pillar had its clip snapped and needed to be replaced, and the car started rattling even with the subs off. |

Get them to clean it... They wont do too much damage in one clean... Wont feel like picking up a new car otherwise!

Almost forgot to upload a pic of the car! I didn't end up letting them clean it. I just left it dirty until the weekend in which I bought the products to clean it correctly :P
I missed the FG, hated seeing my mums 2010 XR6 parked in the driveway taunting me, fortunately I also have an 08 Accord Euro, but its no match for the FG =) |

I really like a happy ending like this.
It's rare to get a win out of insurance like this ... especially when they stall as much as they did. Nice pickup on the FG2. The only downside now I guess is the higher insurance premiums you will have now ... that's about all.

Blue trimming runs through the seats, the instrument cluster has a different larger font. And of course, projector lights =) The fact that this car is brand new vs my 010 that was an ex rental is more important to me then having a mark 2. Just went through my first tank of petrol and i'm at 650ks with this car :P |

What a success mate. Well done. Always fight the insurance companies. And a very nice car too. You've made me tingle with jealousy. Haha
