Smile Jay Leno is now a Falcon man!

http://www.autoblog.com/2012/04/16/j...thanks-to-bat/

Quote:
It turns out Jay Leno shops for classic cars just like the rest of us do: by wasting untold hours drooling over occasionally perusing BringaTrailer.com. The comedian and host of The Tonight Show recently took a shine to a memorable 1963 Ford Falcon Sprint shown on the site, and it wasn't long before a few phone calls were made. Now the previous owner can say he sold a car to one of the world's most well-known collectors, and Leno will have a very-cool Falcon in his Big Dog Garage.

So, what made this particular coupe worthy of such admiration? The '63 had undergone significant revision at the hands of the previous owner and builder, including a substantial weight reduction, suspension tweaks with input from the gurus at Koni, along with a fully blueprinted 302 V8. With an aluminum intake and heads as well as a lightweight T5 transmission, the seller claims to have plucked around 200 pounds from the vehicle's nose.

The idea was to build the car in the image of the Holman Moody Falcons that once competed in the legendary Monte Carlo Rally.
Can't wait to see the video on Jay Leno's Garage.

I think the 335 GT-P would be a good edition for him...

Ralph Gilles from Chrysler brought the Dodge Charger SRT8 around to his garage, and he liked that. So I think he'd love the GT-P

I was expecting something modern, but this makes more sense as its still a US model.

He also has a heap of RHD cars. Not sure how many of those are modern ones though.

Great thing about J is that he doesnt mind if it doesnt go around corners that well or if the trim isnt the best, He just enjoys having nice things and appreciates the cars for what they are.

he is a legend its a pitty someone in Aus doesnt do what he does.

Lindsay Fox would be the closet we have to him in automotive taste's its a pity Lindsay doesnt have a web site like Jay to share his collection.

Mr Fox even bought his own race track and test track

As an aside has anyone seen Jay Lenos 3D printer? its on his site somewhere awsome.uses it to copy old parts then remanufactures whatever is needed

It's called a Ford Shogun. It has a rear mounted V6 Taurus SHO engine in it. Then it's twin turbo'd and NOS'd... and it goes like the clappers.

I have been a couple of times and it great but he needs more room to show All of his cars as the docklands site is a tiny amount of what he owns

I saw a SHOgun in person at Sebring this year. Neat little car. I believe this one was "stock," though.
