We are experiencing an issue with the booster brakes on a 1941 to 45 model ford blitz. The problem is that when you apply the booster brakes they stay on for about a minute after you've taken your foot off the pedal before they will release. Does anyone have any clues as to what is going on with them? Any advice appreciated.
Thanks in advance on behalf of my Dad who is trying to repair them! |

Hi Kathy, welcome to the Forums!
My first thought would be how old are the brake hoses? They can deteriorate and swell inside which acts like a one-way valve, restricting the return of brake fluid from the wheel cylinders. Good luck with the repairs and don't forget to post some photos of the truck! |

Thanks for the replies. I'll pass the info on to Dad. I believe the brakes have had some work done on them and this included the springs. I'm not sure about the hoses though. I'll see if I can get a photo from Dad's mate for you!
