Default Getting motorcycle L's in VIC

Hey guys,

As they title suggests I am looking at getting my motorbike license and a 250 to get started with.

Just wondering if any one has experience at any of the license training providers in Melbourne - there are so many and I am just trying to pick a good one!!

Cheers,

Paul

why would you get a 250cc when you can ride a LAMS 650cc?

I did my L's and P's with Motorcylce motion in Moorabbin and they were awesome. Wife recently did both at ridetek and found them really good too, but they've now moved to Dandenong.

Why not get a 250 LAMS, they are all power restricted you just end up with more torque and bigger insurance bill on a 650 LAMS.

If you do get you L's, get onto Netrider. they have free learners practice on Saturday mornings run by two experienced riders who volunteer thier time and most Sunday's is learner friendly ride.

why spend 8k on a 650 LAMS bike when pick up a 250 for 3k as you will want something better/more power in 15months time anyhow. your wasting money spending big money on a LAMS

Armstrong on settlement rd Thomastown is where I did my L's and Full license test. I would recommend them.

thats true also depends if they have full drivers licence cause once you get your P's if remmeber correctly full drivers and getting your motorcycle P-plates you wont have any restrictions on bike.

also recommend once you get your bike FULL LEATHERS even on a 250cc

http://www.tigerangel.com.au/ great leathers well made

Thanks guys - all great advice!!

You have all mentioned my exact reasons for going for a 250... I will only be keeping it for 15 months till I get something bigger. I have done a bit if research and the CBR 250s are basically the same price second hand as they are new... So getting one of them wont see me losing much money...
