I would steer well clear. The Duratec 3.0L is a bulletproof engine, the CD4E transmission however (used in the Ford Escape and Mazda Tribute) is a piece of crap. If you do a google search you'll see what I mean.

I assume the Taurus we got here was the same as the one in the states my sister over there had one for a few years and it was the biggest crap box I've been in..
