About to go and finally do this on an AU1 I6.
For some reason, I thought it'd be a mount it up pull two hoses and relocate them deal but Uncle Ken's how to shows pipe cutting.... Is there a way to do it without pipe cutting? Pics and how-tos would be helpful as I'm a novice at things like this. Cheers |

JC has done a number of these. He'll be able to also do a write up. IIRC, every one he's done involves the cutting of pipes though.
I did see a How To on the B series forum a while back which looked very similar to our setup and had lots of pics. Perhaps try there also. GK

It depends on the kit you buy. You can pay for the generic kit which requires pipe cutting, or you can pay around $30 more and get the kit specifically for an AU falcon which come with screw on connectors that fit the end of the pipes that go into the radiator. IMO, the cutting pipe is easier, cheaper, and gives you a wider choice of kits to use (ie you can use anything from 200 x 255 bar and plate up to the 280 x 255 bar andf plate versions - the standard AU one with the screw on fittings is only the smaller one, IIRC).
Personally, I fit one cooler that is at least the next size up from the recommended, or better still, 2 coolers in series with each other and bypassing the radiator altogether. On my current cars, I have actually fitted 1 x 280 x 255 one and 1 x 200 x 255 to the XR8, and 2 of the 200 x 255s to the Territory. No need for a writeup - each kit I have ever bought comes wityh fairly detailed instructions.
