I thought it was funny when Toyota bought out the current shape Camry, they were all excited about the styling. Now they can't wait till the next Camry. As long as it isn't like the new celica. argh. it's like an AU but worse

Oh please, you drive an EA FFS, and your bagging AU's? I sure as hell know what 99.9% of the population would chose and it doesnt have CFI or 3 speed autos as an option.

That choice the public wants? Does it involve a spear gun, a barrel full of formaldehyde, and a disused bank vault?

Woah, calm down, if you can't take a little bit of criticism then get off the internet. I didn't say the AU was a bad car, I just said that it look bad.

What the???!!!

I drive a '78 fairmont and i am far too young to have a cardy!! The only reason that Fairies and LTD's register is because older people enjoy (and can afford) the extra comfort..........just venting my spleen!! out:

And I just said that the EA was hardly compariable in any way. Of course, thats just my opinion. Maybe if you were intellegent enough to realise that everyone has different tastes and likes, that saying a particular model looks bad is so subjective that its going to almost certainly be defended. Beat way to avoid this (apart from not posting... but we can only wish for that) is to state it is your 'opinion'!

I personally love the look of the AU, as does a very large portion of the forums. Therefore stating it looks bad is just your 'opinion', it has little or no bearing on anyone elses reality. Just as I think that the anime crap in your avatar looks like childrens TV shows and that the EA is a shocker. Both of these are my 'opinion' and have no bearing on anyone elses reality.

You may find this post a little harsh Selekta but, you know what they say, if you can't take a little bit of criticism then get off the internet. :yeees:

Eh? Your post wasn't harsh at all, You don't like EA's, that's fine with me, I never said that the AU was a bad car, I just said that generally, they are not suited to my taste. I am also more aiming that opinion at the Series 1 Fortes, with the hidious front grille.

It's not like your Malvern Star! pedalling backwards won't apply the brakes.

And its not so much the EA is ugly or bad, but at this stage of its service life it is now more accessible to the clueless. Not a comment on the Model or some of its owners, rather an observation.

No opinions were harmed in the presentation of this post.

So you're saying that people who can't afford to buy later model falcons are of lesser intellect?

No! If you'd bothered reading in between your bouncing about twerp like, you would have noticed I stated that the older models were more accessible to the lunatic fringes. I did not make any inferences now did i?

No, he's saying that those of lesser intellect can now afford them. He hasnt said that those that drive them have lesser intellect. There is a difference... figure it out.

Damn, I didnt now EA- AU relastions were that bad. Both models had there good and their bad (ie EA 3.2 3Spd & AU I Forte) both models weren't bad cars compared to the opposition (except the 3.2 but forget about that) and put it this way I'd prefer a nice EA over a VN anyday and I'd take and AU Fairmont over a Berlina evertime.

Back on topic, i'm suprised the Honda Accord hasn't had any takers, the V6 Accord has a fair bit are cardigan cred'.

The Euro Accord is rated as the best luxury cars below $57,000.

Also - cardigan cred cars? Well, wouldn't that also apply to BMW M3/M5, Audi S4, A6 etc, all Porsches, All Merc AMGs? Never seen anyone below 40 owing them : Actually, come to think of it, most cars above $80,000.

Hay.... Back of the Camry guys. My wife drive a Camry. We have had it 3 years and only been in the shop once for a new water pump. I have had my BA for 11 months and has been in the shop about 9 times for various things. Ford ought to take a leaf from Toyota's book on how to build a reliable car.

Be careful what you wish for jabba....Young girl that works for has had her brand spankers Corolla in approx. 8 times to have the wing added, wing repainted to match the actual colour of the car, warped dash replaced, hatch taken off and remounted to fix NVH problems, car cut and polish to clean up marked paint (car yard mechanics fault), dash taken out and re-installed again, radio and heater controls tightened up, and of course, the dash tightened up again....My parents Prado went through 3 services before they finally believed 'em and checked and replaced the stuffed up air-flow meter. The Prado's fuel economy improved by about 15-20%.

Avalon. Bently doesn't need to be on this list. With either a 6.75 Litre Twin Turbo V8 or a t Litre W12, I would hadly imagine either to be considered a Cardigan Car (tm). Afterall, the Bentley is the fasted factory 4 door sedan on the planet!

Hard choice between the Camry & Avalon, despite the poll being closed.

I had a kodak moment the other day that I wish I could share with you all :P It involved a P-plater in an early 90s Camry complete with (not big) rims, huge muffler and a shopping list splashed over the doors and front guard. I pointed and laughed until he noticed me : and I don't think he was very happy. I then proceeded to continue laughing (as you do), especially when I kicked down to 1st at the end of the 60 zone and rocketed away :sm_headba

I love 60-straight-to-100 zones

/end useless post.
