Yes the other side might be just as bad but if we keep hitting them maybe they will learn not to randomly tax us.

Are you talking about normal rego or club rego?

The normal rego up here is something like
$850 for 6cyl
and $1050 for 8cyl
(These are 'around about' prices - Not sure what the exact was)

and that is if it hasn't gone up since I paid in November.

Well if the club rego is now $400 a year, with the limited use
I will be paying the extra and goin full rego
For the extra $10 odd a week its not worth the hassle

The eQuote page on the website doesnt list Special Interest vehicles, so if someone can show me where to get a quote from?

No where has it been mentioned that club rego would be going up?

It would certainly be good if we can get the bottom of this situation
Im sure the OP said it had gone up , and the damage to his wallet proves that
We will wait with anticipation
I cant have 3 full regos at 3 K a year,thats gettin a little silly

Funny this topic should be brought up again...

Talking to the powers today....

For Victoria (and this is only in draft)

Currently we are paying $110 for club rego

New scheme (45/90 day log book). So you can use it any day of your week as long as it is 'logged' but you can move it within 5 metres either side of your driveway without it being logged...

Looking around the $120 mark for 'rego'

$12 for a log book

$45 for a 45 day permit and $65 for a 90 day permit

And you can not change between them during the year... you can only upgrade/downgrade when your next rego is due

So roughly we are looking at a rise to $197 for club plates.

But I stress this is only in draft and will not be in by the end of the year.

Lucky I paid my club rego a couple of months ago for a year. Why people keep voting this party in is beyond me. Sunshine Coast residents have the right idea though.

Well, I just went to Qld Transport, and entered info for a Special Interest Vehicle, of 8 cylinders. Cost including CTP was $460. Disgusting.

Well thats pretty much it...

It's like now.. How many times do you have a Red Plate car pulled over in the middle of the week, checking what they are up to? "Oh but sir, I was just on a maintenance run"

I've been told it will be similiar to that of a truck, but also been told it would just be a date, destination and km form aswell...

People will just say they forgot to fill it in if they get pulled over, and I dare say will get let off (especially in the early stages when there is the changeover period)

Will wait and see. I unfortunately do not have an answer

maybe in the early days, but if pulled over without the log book filled in, then you will no doubt be hit with driving an unregistered car. if you have an accident - damage to property could be the least of your problems - no tac insurance

They know they can get away with it because it does not effect the general Joe Public. If Joe Public finds out the Labor party then can play the hoon card which he will agree with. I take my car out probably three times a year, thats about $154 per trip now.

Cool Club rego

Hi all
I went on the Queensland Transport site and put in an e quote for special interest rego on a V8
and it came back at $450 that sucks
anyway I went to Woodridge rego office(I refuse to call it Logan Central) and asked the lady at the front desk about club rego along with questions about LHD rego for a 66 Thunderbird and she told me all I had to do was get a RWC and bring it in for an inspection and a mod plate to register it
never said how much it would cost for the plate though
and as for club rego she told me $200 a year
so who knows
thanks John

The rego has not increased. When you choose the CTP provider on the website it does notautomatically change the class of CTP cover. You have to change the cover to vintage after selecting the provider. Class 5 is for Special interest vehicles

and pigs will fly, I think the nation of australia should go on strike, no work no tax to pay, no bank loans paid. so no need for pollos and thier crazy irish robin hood taxes

the other thing we can winge about why do all new roads being build from our rego money have toll charges

Wasnt the bridge paid for within a coupla years ???
So why do we still have a toll and why does it still increase ???

Anyway back on topic

Ill go down the local rego mob , and talk to lady down there regarding the increase QLD rego problem
She is also a member of a local club
