I'd be getting a picture of your car and taking it from there. It might cost you a few bucks for it, but at least there won't be any disputing it.
It is fairly well documented in this forum, how the gov't get it wrong, when issuing fines. Toll fines seem to spring to mind over getting plate numbers wrong. Good luck
