I have some NSW Plates on my Ford that my wife has grown tired of and that other Ford enthusiasts may be interested in. What are the rules for selling / transferring plates and letting Ford enthusiasts aware of their availability??- does any body have experience with this?

Welcome to the forums. Unless you have Personalised Plus Plates (& are paying a $440 annual fee), you do not own them & have no rights to sell them. You can only transfer them to immediate family members, or hand them back to the RTA & get a new replacement set. If your plates in question are FO44RD then you can't sell them. After you've given them back back to the RTA, you may notify Ford enthusiasts & they can apply to the RTA to get them reissued (at the RTA's discretion). After a period (12 months I think), if they haven't been reissued, they will be destroyed & the number combination will become available again for anyone to order & have them made. |
