Id make sure the petrol tank was emptied of any fuel and completely clean of any dirt grit or sand that make get sucked in by the pick up. fuel pumps can die very quickly if this is not done PROPERLY.

Did you ensure this yourself, or was that what the FORD mechanics told you?

Have you used new fuel line from the pump to the underneath of the assembly on the inside?

mm funny about that. I am on my fourth feul pump also. Not happy. Not sure if the V8 and I6 pumps are the same, I suspect they are.
First one lasted 180k, 2nd 30k, 3 36K, so far 40K on this pump, and its quiet too, once you hear a singing noise getting lowder, its on its way out, and it mimics a spark problem. I would have bet each time is was a coil pack or electrical and not fuel. Wrong each time !! tank is spotless inside. Ford did the first one, and Mic Webb did the others.

I don't suppose there is a power supply problem, under or over voltage that is killing the pump motor?
