Are the monroe GT short body shocks better than the standard shocks that came with my AU XR8?

Im pretty sure that Monroe dont make a short bodied shock, but make a shock reccomended for lower cars, which is the GT gas model, and I have it in my Monty. IMHO they are horrible, very very hard when coupled with my kingsprings. Fork out an extra $50 for the lot, and get BOGE.

Monroe make a short body shock its called sport gas and only have front available for AU's, rear u use GT gas to match up, they are a fair wack better than stock. Tightened up the fairlane considerably and got rid of the boat ride.

they have new one out called GT SPORT as well made for lowered cars

there was a website selling boge shocks really cheap but they didnt have shocks for irs listed, did boge ever make a shock to suit irs?

Have this exact setup in the AU and it feels good, that being said though anything will feel better then the most likely flogged out original OEM things in there.

GT Sports theyre the ones I meant. Only new on the market. Priced up a set of pedders. $507 for the rear supply only. I might save up the extra and koni sports I think

BOGE did make some for IRS as Debzilla and Blackers both use them in their fairlanes.

The Pedders Sports gas are good value for money but if you can do the Konis very well worth it as they are adjustable & re buildable. Really good shocks the Koni Sport you will be very happy with the end result.

Another vote here for BOGE short struts.

Paid $220 a pair for front
$140 a pair for rear

Excellent ride combined with Eibach Springs. I cant speak for them used with kings though.

They must have been having a go at you with that price. I got short shocks and touring springs for all four corners for under a grand from pedders.

It will be right but using our big bore sports ryder shocks on the rear with our sports ryder springs.

Not a fan of the sports Ryder springs, a bit to harsh for my liking. The tourers give the blend of handleing and comfort I like. I've got this setup in both my cars.

hey there Suspension Expert ive got a question about pedders sway bars for ya im wanting to put one in the rear of my au3 wagon i see on your web site that you only list them for utes am i right in thinking the same one will go on a wagon as well.......

As for your question the sway bar on a ute to a wagon are different if you give a store a ring & ask for part number SFR60 it takes about 7-10 working days as they have to be made when ordered. See you are from W/A try giving Pedders Cannington a call (08) 9358 3222 they should be good of help for you (my cousin owns that store)

Since I have decided not to go monroe's. Can anyone tell me if my car (AUXR8 with IRS) which is currently fitted with Sl's at the front and SSl's at the rear. Would it handle better with Sl's in the rear or will the ssl's be good?

It would be ok with the ssl's with a set of good struts to suit the lowered height but need the same with sl's also. I believe that with the sl's though it would handle even better as there would be that little bit of extra suspension travel.
